To BEE or Not to BEE...

To Bee or not to Bee?

That was the question for our three middle schools' Spelling Bee Sponsors. This year Mrs. Berg (PRMS), Mrs. Bobki (TRMS), and Mrs. Hawkins (WMS), worked together to host a virtual school spelling bee at each middle school.

Using the Scripps National Spelling Bee website, they created an online experience where students could sign up to participate. TRMS had one round of action with fifth-grader De'Angelo Davis winning. Eighth-grader Ashton Lang won at Wheatridge Middle School. Seventh-grader Elayna Armato won at PRMS. Both WMS and PRMS had two rounds of spelling due to a tie. There were over 100 participants in the three schools.

These three students advance to the Johnson County Spelling Bee. This next level of competition will take place on January 27th and 28th with the format to be determined.

Congratulations, De'Angelo, Ashton, and Elayna!
