Gardner Edgerton High School staff got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity last week as the Army National Guard selected the school to host a unique Black Hawk helicopter experience as part of its recruitment outreach.
The unmistakable sound of helicopter blades drew attention across campus as the aircraft made repeated trips, transporting more than 30 teachers throughout the morning. The event created excitement among students and staff alike, with many pausing to watch the helicopters land and take off.
As the host site, GEHS ensured that all teachers who wished to participate had the chance to do so. For many, the experience was unforgettable.
Principal Frank Bell reflected on the impact, saying, “We had several teachers have a bucket list kind of experience. I will certainly never forget it.”
A big thank you to the Army National Guard for providing such a memorable opportunity. The event not only energized staff but also offered students a unique glimpse into military aviation.
