Gardner Edgerton USD 231’s Pshyra Bedell has been recognized as a recipient of the 2026 Whelan Award for Learning for her work as a member of the Early Childhood Leadership Cadre.
The Early Childhood Leadership Cadre brings together professionals representing early childhood programs throughout Northeast Kansas. The award recognizes Bedell and her fellow Cadre members for their commitment to collaboration and dedication to providing high-quality educational opportunities for young learners.
Through their leadership and professional service, Cadre members have made a meaningful impact on children, families and educators across the region.
Bedell was nominated for the honor by Dr. Kathleen Tuck. The award is presented by the Department of Special Education Recognition & Dissemination Committee and celebrates excellence in advancing early childhood education.
